Kevin has been helping Stuart & Branigin clients navigate nearly every aspect of contracts and agreements – from drafting to negotiation to dispute resolution – for nearly 30 years.  A longtime member of the Lafayette community, he also advises individuals on wills and trusts, and handles estate administration and related matters.

Clients benefit from Kevin’s unusual perspective on business contracts and agreements.  With extensive background in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy matters, and resolving other contract-related disputes, he has a clear understanding of where and how agreements can falter.  This experience helps him to quickly identify and negotiate key provisions to protect core interests and mitigate the risk of future disputes.

Kevin has advised a wide range of clients on contract matters, including agribusiness owners, financial institutions, and established corporate entities.  He provides ongoing counsel to a diversified industrial manufacturer assisting the in-house counsel and interacting with procurement executives to review and negotiate contracts with many domestic and international suppliers.  Kevin also advises entrepreneurs and business owners on agreements related to entity formation, including incorporation documents and limited liability operating agreements.

I work hard to establish a trust and connection with my clients to provide quality legal work.

In the estate planning area, Kevin enjoys working with individuals to create wills, trusts and overall plans to protect and transfer assets from generation to generation.  From young families just starting out to business owners with substantial property and business assets, he is dedicated to creating plans suited to each client’s unique circumstances and to careful oversight of estate administration.  With substantial experience in dispute resolution, Kevin is also relied on to represent individual clients in will contests and other contentious estate matters.

The parent of four children, Kevin’s service to the community has included many years as a coach of various youth sports teams, and involvement with Big Brothers / Big Sisters.  He currently serves on the board of trustees of Stidham United Methodist Church.
