Scotty Teal was named a partner at Stuart & Branigin in 2026, marking a significant milestone in her legal career with the firm. She first joined Stuart & Branigin as a law clerk in the summer of 2018 and returned as an associate in the fall of 2019, building a practice focused on delivering practical, results-driven counsel with a strong commitment to client service. Scotty provides fundamental support to the firm’s real estate, professional licensing, business and corporate counseling, litigation, and disputes practices, and her experience includes handling litigation and transactional matters, including real estate, creditor’s rights, and personal injury matters. Her work reflects the firm’s longstanding values of integrity, collaboration, and excellence, and as a partner, she focuses on strengthening client relationships, mentoring younger attorneys, and contributing to the firm’s continued growth.

Scotty earned her B.A. in Law & Society Honors from Purdue University, with minors in Forensics, Political Science, and Spanish, and went on to earn her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. While at Maurer, she served as a Managing Editor for the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, competed in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition, was champion of the 2018 Maurer Transactional Drafting and Negotiation Competition, and published her student note. Prior to joining Stuart & Branigin, Scotty gained valuable experience through internships with Indiana Legal Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a juvenile probation center.

Scotty is active in the community, serving as President of the Hanna Center Board of Directors, Secretary of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association, and as a voting delegate for the Indiana State Bar Association. She is also a member of the Builders Association of Greater Lafayette and the Association of Women Business Owners and mentors pre-law students at Purdue University. Outside of her practice, Scotty enjoys spending time with friends, reading, crafting, and taking nostalgic walks around the Purdue campus.
