Katherine “Kat” Bingaman was born and raised in the greater Lafayette area. Kat earned her degrees in Political Science and Law & Society from Purdue University, graduating with Highest Distinction. While at Purdue, she received Phi Beta Kappa honors and was nominated as an Outstanding Senior in Political Science.
She continued her legal education at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she served as an Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity (ICLEO) Fellow and a Judge Coordinator for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. Kat also clerked for the Honorable Mary Ellen Diekhoff in Monroe County. Her scholarly work was published in the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, where Kat served as an Articles Editor.
Kat’s practice areas encompass education disputes, transportation litigation, construction lawsuits, and other general litigation disputes. Her legal journey began as a summer associate at an Am100 Law Firm. Working with larger-scale clients gave Kat a heightened proficiency in handling complex lawsuits for sophisticated clientele. She is passionate about treating every case with the utmost care and professionalism.
Kat returned to the greater Lafayette area to serve those in her hometown community. Prior to law school, Kat worked in the criminal justice system and designed kitchens. Outside of the law, Kat is passionate about animal adoption, Indiana history, and the Chicago White Sox.
