Leilani was born and raised in Magnolia, Texas. She holds an undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from Rice University, where she received the A.J. Dessler Prize for high achievement in that discipline and had the opportunity to assist with data analysis for the Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute. She earned her law degree at the University of Michigan School of Law where she fell in love with the Midwest and the Uniform Commercial Code.

Before joining Stuart & Branigin, Leilani practiced in Texas in legal fields as diverse as bankruptcy, international immigration, and business formation. She also has experience in patent law, regulatory law, products liability, and international business transactions. Additionally, she volunteers pro bono with Indiana Legal Services’ Lafayette office. Leilani is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Texas.

Outside of legal practice, Leilani enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and their children, improv comedy, native plants—and, of course, astronomy.
