A trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience, Bill is a skilled and passionate advocate for individuals harmed due to another’s negligence. Having defended Purdue University in a variety of different kinds of litigation as well as insurance companys, Bill’s background has helped him to secure numerous multi-million dollar awards on behalf of individual clients in courts.
While many personal injury attorneys take on a high volume of cases, employ a “one size fits all” approach, and rarely communicate directly with clients, Bill’s approach is different. Focused on personal attention, compassionate service, and smart advocacy, Bill selects cases carefully and develops strategies tailored to each client’s specific circumstances. When trial is warranted, Bill is a trusted resource, having handled more than 70 jury trials in state and federal court.
A diverse group of clients have come to rely on Bill’s strong capabilities – and Stuart & Branigin’s resources and reputation – in a variety of difficult circumstances, including traumatic brain injury and wrongful death. He has particular experience in the following areas:
- Roadway accidents – auto, trucking, motorcycle, and bicycle crashes
- Premises liability – slip and falls, trip and falls, negligent security
- Products liability – medical devices, prescription drugs, machinery, and home appliances
- Workplace accidents – industrial, agricultural and construction injuries; exposure cases
- Electrical injury and explosion accidents – in-home, industrial and other circumstances
- Insurance disputes – fire losses, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims
Bill is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a recipient of the Indiana Bar Foundation’s President’s Award, and former president of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association. A longtime resident of Lafayette, he has served on the board of directors of numerous nonprofits in the region, and also served as adjunct professor of law at Purdue University.
